Goats

Goats

I purchased Wendell and Berry in 2004 for $30 each, a high price to pay for a 4H project’s byproducts.  They are a LaMancha – Angora cross.  In winter they grow a shaggy poodle coat like Angoras and in summer they rub it off and sport a smooth coat like LaManchas.  Because I got them when they were a month old and raised them like puppies, they are pets. But they do work the farm, keeping the brush down and eating the invasive species (multiflora, privet, and barberry).  They are social creatures.  We enjoy each other’s company.
